“Kaminari” means “thunder & lightning” and it was a name that stuck while we were visiting farms and Jiu Jitsu academies between a drizzly Tokyo and Kyoto.
Purifying Yuzu juice and detoxifying Sasanishiki rice water are blended with an anti-fungal combo of Japanese bamboo charcoal and Tsubaki oil. Each bar also contains Matcha Tea Powder sourced from the Ippudo Tea farm in Kyoto. Matcha Tea is a natural antibiotic and rich in Chlorophyll which naturally stimulates the wound healing process. The best rule of thumb is to wash after every use. This prevents possible bacteria or fungus outbreaks in the gym and also keeps you smelling great (which is good for you and your teammates)
Some Gi’s come preshrunk. But always safe than sorry. Gi’s are either 100% cotton or a natural fiber blend.
Wash Cold and hang dry to prevent shrinkage.
Well for kids, we always want to go a little big since that allows a longer life of the Gi before they grow out.
We want the sleeves to sit at the wrist bone and the pants to sit at the ankle bone. With large Gis I will roll them up to allow use of feet and hands.
